The Soft Launch and Upscale Networking Event is designed to bring together people who believe that strong small businesses are essential to strong communities.
Attendees will have opportunities to:
New York City is home to one of the most diverse entrepreneurial communities in the world. Minority-owned businesses contribute significantly to neighborhood development, job creation, innovation and the economic vitality of the city.
Yet many entrepreneurs continue to face challenges involving access to capital, procurement opportunities, business education, professional networks and resources needed to scale.
The New York City Minority Small Business Chamber of Commerce, Inc. seeks to help close those gaps by creating a powerful platform that connects entrepreneurs with information, relationships and opportunities.
The Chamber will work to build bridges among small businesses, corporations, government agencies, financial institutions, nonprofit organizations, chambers of commerce and community stakeholders.
The September 1 event represents more than an introduction of a new organization. It marks the beginning of a long-term effort to strengthen the voice and economic position of minority and small businesses throughout New York City and New York State.
The Chamber is inviting entrepreneurs from all five boroughs — Brooklyn, Bronx, Manhattan, Queens and Staten Island — as well as businesses throughout the greater New York metropolitan area to participate in this growing movement.
Whether you are an established business owner, emerging entrepreneur, young professional, corporate executive, government representative or organization seeking to connect with New York City's diverse business community, the soft launch offers an opportunity to get involved from the beginning.
The soft launch will bring together an ecosystem of organizations committed to entrepreneurship, leadership development and economic empowerment, including the Long Island African American Chamber of Commerce, Inc., 100 Black Men of Eastern New York, Inc., and the African American Small Business Foundation, Inc.
These relationships demonstrate the importance of collaboration in creating sustainable opportunities for entrepreneurs throughout New York City and the surrounding region.
