Apple Announces 'Surprise And Shine' Event: What To Expect

Apple has officially set the date for its next big event.

The company announced Wednesday that it will hold a special Apple Event on Sept. 9 at 10 a.m. PT (1 p.m. ET), teasing the event with the phrase "Surprise and shine."

Apple hasn't revealed what it plans to announce, but the company's September events traditionally bring some of its biggest product launches of the year.

Last September was no exception. Apple's "Awe Dropping" event brought the iPhone 17 lineup, including the first iPhone Air, along with AirPods Pro 3 and new Apple Watch models.

So what's coming this time?

MacRumors reports that six products are among the most likely to debut: the iPhone 18 Pro, iPhone 18 Pro Max, Apple's first foldable iPhone, reportedly called the iPhone Ultra, Apple Watch Series 12, Apple Watch Ultra 4 and AirPods 5.

The rumored foldable iPhone could be the biggest departure from Apple's current lineup. MacRumors reports that the device is expected to feature a 7.7-inch inner display and a 5.3-inch outer display, along with iPad-like multitasking features. The publication also expects upgrades to the Pro iPhones and Apple Watches, plus two versions of AirPods 5 — one with active noise cancellation and one without.

For now, though, those products remain expectations rather than confirmed announcements from Apple.

Apple's event begins Wednesday, Sept. 9, at 10 a.m. PT (1 p.m. ET). According to Apple's announcement, viewers can watch on Apple.com, Apple TV or YouTube Live.
