Dried Mushrooms Sold In 15 States Recalled Over Salmonella Risk
The possible contamination was detected during routine testing by the Maryland Department of Health.

CAPITOL HEIGHTS, MD — A Maryland company issued a recall this week for several kinds of dried mushrooms after health officials found the product may be contaminated with salmonella, according to a notice posted by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.
The recall was issued for Three Coins Dried Mushrooms, manufactured by Tai Phat Wholesalers LLC. The notice affects four different types and sizes.

- Three Coins Dried Mushrooms Slices – Item #: 01051- Nam Meo Soi -S- 2.5 oz
- Three Coins Dried Mushrooms Slices – Item #: 01276- Nam Meo Soi -L- 10.5 oz
- Three Coins Dried Mushrooms Whole – Item #: 01052- Nam Meo Nguyen -S- 2.5 oz
- Three Coins Dried Mushrooms Whole – Item #: 01277- Nam Meo Nguyen -L- 10.5 oz
The mushrooms were shipped to specialty retail stores in Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Maryland, Massachusetts, Minnesota, Mississippi, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia.
All products were sealed in a clear plastic package with a label.

Possible salmonella contamination was detected during routine testing by the Maryland Department of Health. So far, no illnesses have been reported.
Salmonella is an organism that can cause serious and sometimes fatal illnesses in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems. Those infected with salmonella may have symptoms including fever, diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, and abdominal pain.
