‘Fauci Ouchie’: Olivia Rodrigo, Dr. Fauci Read Vaccine Tweets

The nation's top infectious disease expert teamed up with the "Good 4 U" singer to encourage young people to get vaccinated.

WASHINGTON, DC — Generations united for a good cause this week when Olivia Rodrigo, an 18-year-old pop singer with the No. 1 album in the United States, teamed up with Dr. Anthony Fauci to encourage more young people to get vaccinated.

How’d they do it? Think Jimmy Kimmel’s “Mean Tweets,” except these tweets weren’t so mean. In fact, most focused on getting the COVID-19 vaccine and all mentioned Rodrigo or Fauci by name.

The Biden administration released the video featuring the head of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases and the “Good 4 U” singer, who visited the White House this week.

Rodrigo, who has millions of followers on social media, is part of a growing number of celebrities and influencers working with the White House to deliver pro-vaccine messages to their followers.

The collaboration between Rodrigo and Fauci was equal parts informative and entertaining.

“Here’s one that says, ‘I got my first dose of the fauci ouchie,’” Fauci reads.

In addition, Rodrigo teaches Fauci what “Man Crush Monday” means after he reveals the greatest concert he ever attended.

I’m so old that it goes back to the late 1950s at the Paramount Theatre in New York City, which was a Motown concert with The Temptations and The Four Tops,” Fauci says.

“I’m a really old guy," he laughs.
