Don Jr. Tells Dad To Ignore Calls For Gun Control: Report
President Trump has suggested he is open to some gun control measures after Parkland, but his son reportedly is urging him to not give in.

WASHINGTON, DC — The murder of 17 people at a high school in Parkland, Florida, has caused a massive cry for stricter gun control measures by some voters, and President Trump has indicated he's open to more restrictions on guns. But his eldest son, Donald Trump Jr., reportedly is urging his father behind the scenes to stand firm on gun rights and not give an inch on the issue.
Asawain Suebsaeng of The Daily Beast reports that Don Jr. is telling his father to draw a hard line on gun rights, even with polls showing a majority of Americans support stricter gun control measures and calls for action louder than ever after the carnage at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School.
Don Jr.'s stance runs counter to the counsel Trump has gotten from other friends, who have suggested he adopt a "more balanced approach," the Daily Beast reported. Don Jr. fears that even a tiny move toward more gun control would be met with massive backlash from major donors and activists, particularly the National Rifle Association.
