NYT Reveals 2nd Trump Tower Meeting Aimed At Helping Campaign

The Times, which revealed the first Trump Tower meeting with a Kremlin emissary, says Trump Jr. had another similar meeting.

WASHINGTON, DC — Three months before the 2016 election, Donald Trump Jr. met with an Israeli social media expert, an emissary of two Arab crown princes and the founder of the private military firm formerly known as Blackwater, according to a new report Saturday by The New York Times. The Times — which previously reported on the now famous Trump Tower meeting in which a Kremlin emissary claimed to have dirt on Hillary Clinton — reported that Trump Jr. took another meeting in the building three months before the election.

The group mainly gathered, The Times said, to offer assistance to Donald Trump's campaign. It established relationships between the men and Trump's circle, which would grow well past the election and into President Trump’s first year in office, several people with knowledge of the matter told the newspaper.

The emissary, George Nader, told Donald Trump Jr. that the princes who led Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates were eager to help his father win election as president. The social media specialist, Joel Zamel, extolled his company’s ability to give an edge to a political campaign; by that time, the firm had already drawn up a multimillion-dollar proposal for a social media manipulation effort to help elect Mr. Trump.

The Times says the meetings indicate countries other than Russia might have tried to help to the Trump campaign leading up to the 2016 presidential election.
