Michael Cohen Admits Lying About Trump Tower Deal In Moscow
Michael Cohen, Trump's former personal lawyer and "fixer," pleaded guilty to a new criminal charge, according to reports.

WASHINGTON, DC — Michael Cohen, President Donald Trump's former personal lawyer and "fixer," has pleaded guilty to a new criminal charge in the special counsel's investigation, according to reports. Cohen, who previously pleaded guilty to federal charges involving his taxi businesses, bank fraud and campaign work for Trump, made an unexpected appearance in a Manhattan courtroom Thursday morning, multiple media outlets reported.
There, he pleaded guilty to lying to Congressional lawmakers during private testimony last year over his contact with Russians during the 2016 election ,The Associated Press reported. Specifically, making false statements to the U.S. Senate Select Committee on Intelligence about plans to build a Trump Tower in Moscow.
This is the first time special counsel Robert Mueller has charged Cohen, The New York Times reported. Cohen will reportedly continue cooperating with Mueller and, in exchange, could receive a lighter sentence.
