Omarosa May Have Secretly Taped Trump: Report

Omarosa Manigault Newman may have taped President Trump during her time at the White House, an explosive new revelation that comes as she promotes her new tell-all book, "Unhinged: An Insider's Account of the Trump White House."

The Daily Beast reported that Omarosa, as she is popularly known, taped conversations she had with the president on her smartphone without his knowledge.

In a statement to USA Today, Omarosa's publisher Gallery Books said: “Without commenting on the specific contents of 'Unhinged,' we are confident that Omarosa Manigault Newman can substantiate her highly-anticipated account of life inside the Trump White House."

Omarosa has had a tumultuous relationship to Trump. She appeared multiple times on Trump's show "The Apprentice," often combative with her fellow candidates. She was hired to work in the White House but was later fired, and reports suggested she had to be escorted out by security.

The Daily Beast reports that one person confirmed they had heard one of the recordings featuring Trump, and multiple sources described the conversations as "anodyne, everyday chatter."

Omarosa would be the second person who is reported to have recorded the president, with his former personal lawyer and "fixer," Michael Cohen, also reportedly having tapes of conversations with Trump.

Omarosa was a contestant on the very first season of The Apprentice back in 2004. She also joined the first Celebrity Apprentice in 2008, where she famously feuded with Piers Morgan.
