President Trump Visits Florida Along With The Vice President: White House Schedule September 14

The president travels with his wife, Melania, heading back to D.C. in time to host the White House Historical Association annual dinner.

THE PRESIDENT

For the third time in two weeks, President Trump heads to an area hit by natural disaster. His first trip to Houston was heavily criticized for a lack of empathy but he did receive high marks for his second trip, particularly his interactions with children in Houston.

Just before 11 a.m., accompanied by the First Lady, Trump receives an Irma update in Fort Myers, Florida.

The group then heads to Naples - arriving around 11:40 a.m. - where they are scheduled to spend a little less than one hour meeting with individuals "impacted by Hurricane Irma," according to the White House.

The president and group then head back to Washington D.C. via Fort Myers, leaving around 1:35 pm. and arriving back at the White House around 4 p.m..

In the evening, the Trumps will host the White House Historical Association reception and dinner.

THE VICE PRESIDENT

The vice president is also going to Florida, pretty much accompanying the president on each stage of the trip. The difference? The vice president is traveling on Air Force Two as opposed to Air Force One.

While the Secret Service does not have an explicit rule prohibiting the two from traveling in the same plane - or car, for that matter - that has been the accepted practice for years. While protecting the continuity of government is an issue, it's more of a practical .consideration given the size of the entourage - staff, their own press pools - that each travels with.

So, Pence - on Air Force Two - travels to Fort Myers, participates in the Irma briefing, heads to Naples, meets with people impacted by the hurricane, and then heads back to D.C..

WHITE HOUSE DAILY BRIEFING

Will, as usual, be updated in the morning. Based on previous trips, it's likely the briefing will be in the form of a "gaggle" aboard Air Force One; probably on the way back from Florida.
