Trump, Allies Aim To Delegitimize Impeachment From The Start
President Donald Trump and his boosters have sought to brush off the impeachment process and convince voters to punish his accusers.

WASHINGTON — While House Democrats used hearings and depositions in their journey to reach Tuesday's historic unveiling of articles of impeachment against President Donald Trump, the president and his allies have employed far different tactics to fight the charges and the process. Trump's boosters have belittled the impeachment process with mockery, schoolyard taunts and unwavering insistence that the president did absolutely nothing wrong, and stonewalled the process by not allowing witnesses to testify.
Their goal has been to make independent voters skeptical of the impeachment process, a strategy they believe is working.
