Trump Tells Friends: 'You All Just Got A Lot Richer,' Says Report
The president started Christmas Eve with a mini-Twitter tirade followed by a teleconference with members of the military.

PALM BEACH, FL – "You all just got a lot richer," President Trump told friends over dinner at his exclusive Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida, CBS News reports. The network says he made the remark just hours after having signed sweeping tax legislation that gives permanent tax cuts to corporations while offering the middle class and working poor tax cuts that will sunset and then likely turn into hikes in a few years.
Trump arrived at his resort on Friday and while the White House has not officially said how long he will stay, the FAA has put air travel restrictions in place through Jan. 1.
CBS says Trump made the comment about getting richer to friends "dining nearby" including two friends who described the comments to the network.

The president started Christmas Eve with a mini-Twitter tirade against "fake news" and FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe.
After quoting a Fox News report alleging McCabe used his FBI email to promote Hillary Clinton's campaign, he then retweeted a photo illustration from a follower showing him on the phone in the back of a limo. On the bottom of his left shoe is a splotch labeled, "CNN."

Trump then tweeted about a familiar theme – "fake news."
He said: "The Fake News refuses to talk about how Big and how Strong our BASE is. They show Fake Polls just like they report Fake News.
"Despite only negative reporting, we are doing well - nobody is going to beat us."
The president then got on a teleconference with members of the military from each of the five branches, wishing them a Merry Christmas.
"Today and everyday we're incredibly thankful for you and for your families," he said. "Your families have been tremendous."
The president threw in a political message, saying people saw the military "at out great Republican National Convention. And many Republicans are very happy."
He also said how people in Puerto Rico, Florida, and Texas were thankful for Coast guard efforts in the aftermath of hurricanes earlier this year.
"Every American heart is thankful to you, and we're asking God to watch over you and to watch over your families," he said.
The members of the military who spoke with the president were:
- Air Force Lieutenant Colonel Paul Goossen in Qatar;
- Marine Colonel Christopher Gideons in Kuwait;
- Navy Commander Timothy LaBenz aboard the USS Sampson in 5th Fleet OPS Underway;
- Coast Guard Captain Matthew Wadleigh in Guantanamo Bay; and
- Army Colonel Charles Lombardo in Kuwait.
