We are hosting a free recruitment event for rising 2nd-5th graders, and we would love for your singer to be part of it. Join us on Saturday, May 30th from 10 AM to 12 PM at Union Church in Boston for a morning filled with music, games, and fun. We are so excited for you to SHOW UP and SHOW OFF at our Spring Placement Sessions! Our Spring Placement Sessions will take place Saturday, May 30th from 12PM-3PM at Union Church in the South End. Once you've filled out this form, we will email you with an assigned time slot for your placement session. Placement sessions are around 10-15 minutes in length. Please let us know if you have any time constraints between 12 PM and 3 PM, as slots will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis. Walk-ins are welcome, so tell your fellow musical friends to join you!A BCC Placement Session feels like an audition, but more all-inclusive and stress-free! During a BCC Placement Session, you will: - Prepare and perform an excerpt of any song: This can be in ANY style and doesn’t need instrumentation or a backing track. We ask that you please perform this piece a cappella. - Do a short sight-reading exercise! - Engage in a brief conversation about your artistic and social interests! - Ask any questions you may have about our programming!Share any other talents: Dancing, acting, spoken word poetry -- anything! The eclectic lineup of bands—all led by Roslindale residents—includes AS3, Clear Audience, David Leach Collective, Bill Pierce Quartet, Manuel Kauffmann’s Manduca Sexta, Man On Land, and TickleJuice. &nbsp; &nbsp; Curated by jazz pianist/composer, Roslindale's Brian Friedland, the event highlights world-class musicians with deep ties to Boston’s vibrant jazz scene and leading institutions including Berklee College of Music and New England Conservatory. &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;Bring a chair for Adams Park and enjoy great music in the heart of the neighborhood.

This Saturday, May 16th at 5:00PM, the Banshees return home to Veterans Memorial Stadium in Quincy to host last season's defending Legacy Cup Champions Denver Onyx in what is sure to be an action-packed battle for bragging rights! &nbsp; As part of their annual Community Day, the Banshees will be lifting up and celebrating organizations that have a positive impact in communities throughout the greater Boston area.

Hailing from the city of Boston, Alternative Pop artist Jodi Heights stands out in the sea of singer-songwriters with her classically honed technique and her poetic prowess. She holds multiple degrees in music, including a Master of Music from the New England Conservatory.
This release concert celebrates Jodi’s night-themed album, Nocturne, her first Grammy-submitted project.
“I’ve always been a night owl, so writing and recording a whole project centered around loving the dark seemed natural to me. I hope people will receive ‘Nocturne’ as a lullaby to their weary hearts. Turn off all the lights. Maybe burn a few candles, and listen to the whole album at night. Come find your way in the dark.” – Jodi Heights
Nocturne is Jodi’s 6th recording project and marks her second project with Grammy-nominated engineer John Weston of Futura Productions (Roslindale, MA). The album is available in Dolby Atmos, a spatial audio technology for immersive sound.

The Improbable Beasts bass clarinet ensemble, with special guests Meryl Summers(bassoon) and Solon Gordon (piano) present “We Rise,” a program of music about coming together in the midst of adversity, and rising up in community.
Beasts director Jonathan Russell will be joined by pianist Solon Gordon and bassoonist Meryl Summers in his compositional response to the dislocations and disruptions of our current moment called “We Reflect, We Grieve, We Rise.” 
After this, the Beasts present two more of Russell’s original compositions and close with a rousing rendition of the African American Spiritual and protest song “Down by the Riverside.” 
Come join the Beasts for a memorable afternoon of moving and rousing music.
