Maher's Florist opened the doors of their business on March 1, 1977. In 2022, they celebrated their 45th anniversary. Winnie Maher started the company, and Kim Wharton, daughter, currently operates the business.
Over the past 45 years, their mission has always remained the same - to provide superior customer service, create unique and distinct designs, supporti local growers, and supply the best floral products at affordable prices.

Each year, the Greater Severna Park and Arnold Chamber of Commerce, as part of its Independence Day festivities, holds a <a href="https://tinyurl.com/DecorartedBikeContestJuly42026" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">Decorated Bike Contest</a> for our youngest residents. Children are encouraged to decorate their bikes, tricycles and wagons, and enter the contest. There is no fee to register. The children gather at the Chamber for games, fun, and selection of the winners. They then enter the parade. BIKE HELMETS ARE REQUIRED!PARADE ROUTE: The children enter the parade at Riggs Avenue as a group. Older children enter first and the youngest enter last. The WINNERS of the contest lead off! The bikes turn right onto B&amp;A Blvd. and proceed towards Cypress Creek Road. The children turn left into Sunrise Independent and Assisted Living and there will be a designated parking area for the children. Parents should accompany their children or be on hand at Sunrise to pick them up, as they complete the parade route.PRIZES: Prizes are announced following judging at the staging area. Independence Day - Decorated Bike Contest at the Chamber

It's America's 250th birthday and we are ready to celebrate with our Annual Independence Day Parade.&nbsp;&nbsp;Registration and Sponsorships are now open.&nbsp;
Participation in the parade is free for members and non-profits. Please download and complete the Parade Application and Hold Harmless form and return to info@gspacc.com.
There is a $260 entry fee for non-members, but funds can be applied towards a membership in the Chamber. The entry fee can be paid online, and we will still need the application with specific details about your entry and contact information, and a signed Hold Harmless document.
There is a separate application for politicians and candidates, and the Hold Harmless document.
Great sponsorships are available to raise your visibility to the thousands of visitors who enjoy the parade each year.

Proposals are requested for project monitoring of rehabilitation and conservation efforts at Brewer Hill Cemetery, located at 802 West Street, Annapolis, MD 21401. Spanning over 231 years, Brewer Hill Cemetery is one of Annapolis' oldest Black burial sites, serving as the final resting place for generations of African Americans, including enslaved people, free people of color, veterans, notable historical figures, and civil rights leaders. Project monitoring will ensure that all grant-funded work is implemented in accordance&nbsp;with the approved scope, budget, schedule, and applicable state and programmatic&nbsp;requirements for various repairs to Brewer Hill Cemetery. On-site visits would be required. The project is partly funded by the Maryland Historical Trust and the Maryland Commission on African American History and Culture.
