Retired HPHS teacher who is a board member of OUR COMMUNITY OF ILLINOIS, a 501C3 non-profit charity, dedicated to helping children in Illinois foster care. We provide services that the state does not. Bicycles are fixed up and either given to children in foster care or sold to provide other services, such as summer programs, tutors, and I-pads. I fix bicycles and bring them to Chicago for distribution. All bicycles are accepted; condition does not matter. Some bicycles are used for parts; others are sold to raise money for our programs. All participants in this charity are volunteers; we have no paid employees. Without community support, we would not be able to help Illinois foster children.
