The American Legion is this nation’s oldest veterans service organization having been chartered and incorporated by Congress in 1919. It is the nation's largest wartime veterans service organization committed to mentoring youth and sponsorship of wholesome programs in our communities, advocating patriotism and honor, promoting strong national security and continued devotion to our fellow service-members and veterans. The Temecula and Murrieta Valleys are served by Post 852.

The American Legion Riders is a program of the American Legion. Begun in 2007, the American Legion Riders is comprised of Legionnaires, Auxiliary and Sons of the American Legion members who share a mutual enjoyment of motorcycles. Chapter 852 was chartered as a program of Post 852 in October 2010. Since that time, Chapter 852 has participated in numerous community events including parades, funeral escorts and welcome home ceremonies. Monies raised by events sponsored by Chapter 852 continue to support the mission of the American Legion.
