Harlem Ave., River Forest, IL 60305. Guest speaker Eron McCormick, Principal Owner of The McCormick Law Firm, LLC, will join to address the intersection of estate planning and housing decisions. The event is free and open to the public.
Cathy holds the SRES® designation — Senior Real Estate Specialist — and specializes in guiding homeowners through the financial and emotional complexity of right-sizing and transition planning. A Marine Corps veteran, she brings a mission-oriented approach to what is often one of the most consequential decisions a family will make.
Eron has been a member of the Illinois Bar since 2014 and focuses his practice on real estate matters, business law, and estate planning. A graduate of Western Michigan University Cooley Law School, he takes a conversational approach to legal counsel — making sure clients understand their options without the jargon. He also holds a Wisconsin real estate law license, an added resource for Illinois residents with property interests across the border. McCormick is a strong supporter of veterans and first responders, offering discounts to those who have served.

Worldwide Free Comic Book Day Comes to Oak Park with Comics for All Ages!
One Stop comics in Oak Park is one of thousands of comic book shops around the world celebrating the comic book art form on Saturday, May 2nd. On Free Comic Book Day, over two million comic books will be given away by participating stores, introducing as many people as possible to the wonders of comic books!
“The wide array of comic books being published today ensures that readers of all ages — children, teens, and adults – can find something appropriate that will stir their imaginations,” said Rick Manzella owner of One stop comics.
Now in its twenty fifth year, Free Comic Book Day has proven to be a smashing success, spreading the word that comics are terrific reading. “Even if you have never picked up a comic book, stop into One Stop Comics, with Quantum man creator (Geovannie Cano) signing his comics This may be the best free comic book day ever”
"We at One Stop Comics want to spread the word that comics are alive and well in 2026," Manzella continued. "Comic books and graphic novels are considered hip, hot and smart.” Comic Books have propelled to the front ranks of pop culture, many being adapted into movies. One Stop Comics purchases the comics and gives them away for free and all the comics are all online at onestopcomics.net.
Free Comic Book Day kicks off at 10:00 am and runs until 7:00 pm at One Stop Comics 1 111 South Ridgeland. June 3rd 2026 will be the grand opening of our new location 328 Madison Oak park IL. Roz Byrne, a seniors’ real estate specialist, will present a seminar titled, “The Upside of Downsizing,” at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, May 2, 2026,
 at the Oak Park Arms, 408 S. Oak Park Ave. Her seminar will address the
 concerns of moving for seniors. The public is welcome to attend the 
free event.
Byrne is a realtor specializing in helping retirees sell their homes.
 She has been a realtor for more than 20 years; and she earned a SRES 
designation which stands for Seniors Real Estate Specialist.
One of the greatest concerns for seniors after “Where am I moving 
to?” is “What do I do with all my stuff?” Many seniors have not bought 
or sold property in decades and a lot has changed in that time – legal 
and consumer issues, disclosure laws and technology.
