Amherst Citizens Association, Neighbor

The Amherst Citizens Association (ACA) is a loosely organized group of Amherst residents that are interested in understanding the responsibilities, limits, operational processes, and general goings-on of our Town Government. Some of us are focused on day-to-day execution, others on broader philosophical concepts.  Some look at the money, some the process, and some the results.  We dont always agree with the Selectmen, Ways & Means, or even each other.  But what ALL members of the ACA agree to is that the open, informed, civil discussion of issues - especially those that do not have unanimous agreement - is a fundamental element of representative democracy. We also agree that Amherst is a special place to live and that it takes involved and committed citizens - from the elected and appointed Town officials to the volunteers in our schools, churches and civic organizations - to keep Amherst "Amherst".  Make no mistake about it, we all love Amherst and truly appreciate the efforts of everyone that makes this town run.
