Get your hands inspired on May 23 at Super Saturday: MCA Pottery, a creative workshop inspired by the beautifully crafted ceramics on view in the MCA (Memphis College of Art) exhibition. In celebration of this retrospective show, young artists will explore form and texture by sculpting their own mini pottery pieces using Model Magic and kid-friendly clay tools.
This tactile activity introduces children to the basics of ceramics while encouraging imagination and individual expression—no kiln required! Whether coiling a tiny vase or shaping a whimsical bowl, each piece is a personal work of art.

Parking is not on site. The closest parking to our boarding location is ACROSS THE STREET from 119 N Riverside Drive Memphis, TN 38103. GPS will bring you to the TN Welcome Center but DO NOT PARK THERE. You will see a "Riverboat Parking Sign" at the entrance of the fenced in lot directly across the street from the Welcome Center. This is a paid parking lot. To park here you will use the instructions on the signs throughout the parking lot to pay on the parking app. We do not own this lot. Once you park you will take the sidewalk South towards the boats. You will pass the River Garden Park on the left before you will be able to physically see the boats on the river. The boats are located at the intersection of Riverside &amp; Monroe. You will see the ramp that goes into the Cobblestone Landing at the top of the hill at Riverside &amp; Monroe where the metal gate is. THIS IS A 8-10 MINUTE WALK. If you have any guests who require assistance due to a disability or handicap, please drop them off at the boarding location BEFORE parking. You may drive down the cobblestones to the ramp for easier access. Please be mindful of not blocking the walkway to get onto the dock while doing so. This is ONLY for drop off purposes. This information will be emailed to you upon checkout.
There is no dress code but most our of guests dress casually – semi-formal.
We do not offer group discounts. If you are booking a large group by individually booking tickets, please make sure you but put the name of the group or party you would like to sit with in the box during your checkout process. It reads: “Would you like to sit with another group or party?” Please also make sure you select the name of the boat your party is on. Disclaimer: We run our Dinner Cruises on two different boats with two different layouts. Please let us know if you are handicap during the checkout process by marking "yes" when it prompts you to handicap seating. Dinner Cruises typically sell out at least a week in advance. All tickets must be paid for in full, at the time of reservation.

We will open the white gate on the silver gangway ramp at boarding time. Please be patient as the area is under construction and we are required to use this alternate location. The walk from the parking lot to the boats may be difficult for handicap guests. The City of Memphis and Memphis River Parks Partnership are currently redeveloping the entire Memphis Riverfront. Please keep in mind, this is a project that will not be completed until 2026 and we are docked on the City of Memphis’ Riverfront. You will see our boarding location undergoing a remodel when you visit us for one of our tours. The lower the river level, the farther the walk down to the boats. Due to liability purposes and the City Construction Project, we do not have a way to transport you up or down the hill. Please feel free to bring your walker, wheelchair, cane, etc if you have mobility issues. All of this information will be emailed to you in your confirmation emails.

From ancient potters to contemporary artists, objects from the museum’s collection will inspire campers to create their own visual narratives in the studio. Campers will have the opportunity to work independently and collaboratively to learn about plot structure, characters, and design of visual storytelling.

In this fun and creative camp, elementary students will explore sculpture using a variety of materials like plaster, recycled objects, model magic, and more. Campers will learn basic handbuilding techniques,, experiment with texture and shape, and discover how artists turn simple materials into amazing artworks. With plenty of time to play, explore the galleries, and create, students will go home proud of the sculptures they’ve made all by themselves!

Welcome to Mixed Media Summer Camp, where creativity has no limits! Designed for middle school artists, this camp invites students to experiment, combine, and layer a wide range of materials to create bold, one-of-a-kind artworks. Campers will explore techniques like collage, painting, drawing, printmaking, and found-object art while learning how to mix textures, images, and ideas into a single piece. With an emphasis on creative risk-taking and personal expression, students will be encouraged to develop their own artistic voice, try new approaches, and think like contemporary artists.

Students will strengthen their traditional observational abilities while experimenting with composition, materials, and color theory—think manipulated canvas shapes, mixed media, or unexpected hues—to create distinctive, college-ready artwork that showcases both technical mastery and creative originality.
