Friday, June 19, 2026 3:00 PM – 7:00 PM The lawn at Waveny Park, New Canaan, CT&nbsp; FREE &amp; Open to All - Rain or Shine! Juneteenth commemorates June 19, 1865 — the day the last enslaved Americans finally received news of their freedom. First celebrated in 1866, this powerful tradition now marks 160 years of history, resilience, and progress. This year, we are especially honored to be part of New Canaan’s official America 250th Anniversary celebrations. All are welcome from near and far! Free to attend but registration is requested so we have enough supplies.&nbsp; Link in "More Info" tab above.&nbsp; (Drop ins also welcome!) Enjoy an afternoon in a beautiful setting outside of the majestic historical Waveny House filled with:

Free Juneteenth Celebration in New Canaan This Friday!

Swim Across America, the nonprofit organization that makes waves to fight cancer by holding charity swims across the nation, will host its 20th annual Swim Across America – Fairfield County open water swim on Saturday, June 20 2026, in Dolphin Cove in Stamford, Connecticut, at 96 Cummings Point Road, on the Greenwich/Stamford border. The event welcomes swimmers of all ages and skill levels to help make waves to fight cancer, with proceeds benefitting Alliance for Cancer Gene Therapy (ACGT), headquartered in Stamford, and the nation’s only nonprofit dedicated to funding cancer cell and gene therapy. Participants may choose from a 1/2-mile, 1.5-mile, or 3-mile swim course, and children ages 11-years-old and younger can participate in a fun Kids’ Splash along the shore, as well as enjoy other Kids’ Splash zone activities like face painting, tattoos, arts and crafts, and a visit by Dash the Dolphin, Swim Across America’s mascot. There is also a “SAA My Way,” virtual option for those who are unable to participate in-person on June 20th. Andrew Kryzak, this unique event will explore the beauty, history, biblical themes, and spiritual significance of the church’s stained glass windows. Through reflection and discussion, participants will gain a deeper appreciation for how these sacred works of art proclaim the Christian faith and enrich worship. Following the tour, enjoy lunch and fellowship with other women of the parish. Admission is $10 and includes lunch.
