Stamford Palace Theatre

BOTE is the most exact interpretation of the music of the Eagles in America, bar none! Each member mirrors his counterpart in the Eagles instrumentally and vocally. However, this is no simple copy band or impersonator act, but rather a group of excellent musicians who expertly and authentically re-create the songs, the music, the vocals, and the magical aura of one of America’s greatest rock bands. After selling out many venues in the region including the Count Basie Theatre in Red Bank, NJ, BOTE looks forward to sharing a great night of Eagles hits.

Joe Jackson, born in 1954 in Burton-on-Trent and raised in Portsmouth, began his music career early, playing his first paid gig at 16. After earning a scholarship to the Royal Academy of Music, he formed the Joe Jackson Band in London and was signed by A&amp;M Records in 1978, leading to his debut album Look Sharp! (1979). Success followed quickly with I’m the Man and Beat Crazy, before Jackson shifted gears with the swing-inspired Jumpin’ Jive (1981) and the critically acclaimed Night and Day (1982), which became his biggest commercial success. Throughout the 1980s and early ’90s, he explored diverse musical directions — from the horn-driven Body and Soul to the live-recorded Big World and the ambitious Blaze of Glory — while composing film scores and collaborating with other artists.

Bluey’s Big Play is the theatrical adaptation of the Emmy® award-winning children’s television series. Join the Heelers in their first live theatre show made just for you, featuring brilliantly created puppets and sets, this is Bluey brought to real life as you’ve never seen it before.Bluey’s Big Play is friendly for all ages so the whole family can enjoy! Please note that, after the performance, some audience members will be invited to participate in games of “Keepy Uppy” - one where several air-filled balls (made of materials which do not include BPA, Latex or PVC) are released into the audience, and another with bubbles (made of non-stain solution).
As with many children’s games, playing “Keepy Uppy” may at times become boisterous and unpredictable. Our top priority is to keep audience members safe which is why some sections of the venue will not be able to play “Keepy Uppy”. If you do not wish to participate in these games, we recommend you leave the theatre after curtain call.

Greenwich will once again hold two fireworks displays this year at Binney Park and Greenwich Point Park.&nbsp;
The shows are set to begin at dusk on July 2.

Attendees planning to watch from Greenwich Point should note that regular park entry rules apply. Vehicular access to Greenwich Point will close at 8 p.m., or earlier if parking capacity is reached.Residents can call 203-861-6100 for weather cancellation information.
A rain date has been set for Saturday, July 11.

Cummings Park

The City of Stamford will hold its Fourth of July fireworks show on Thursday, July 2, at Cummings Beach.
Sunset is scheduled for 8:31 p.m. that day, ad the fireworks show is slated to begin between then and 8:45 p.m.
A rain date is scheduled for July 3.
Parking restrictions and traffic changes will be in effect for the event in the Shippan area.
Beginning at 3 p.m. on July 2, parking will be prohibited on both sides of Shippan Avenue from Wallace Street to the Magee Avenue intersection, according to police. 
Parking will also be prohibited on the left side of Iroquois, Wampanaw and Rippowam roads at 3 p.m., as well as on the south side of Myrtle Avenue from its intersection with Elm Street to 162 Myrtle Ave.
At 8 p.m., the intersection of Shippan Avenue and Magee Avenue will be closed to southbound traffic, with access limited to residents. At 8:30 p.m., Magee Avenue will be closed to all traffic.
Beginning at 9 p.m., Shippan Avenue from Wallace Street north will become a two-lane, one-way northbound roadway. Magee Avenue will also become a two-lane, one-way northbound roadway.
Following the fireworks display, traffic exiting Shippan Point will be directed north onto Magee Avenue and west onto Jefferson Street (Urban Transitway) to access Canal Street, Atlantic Street, Washington Boulevard and Interstate 95.
Traffic leaving Cummings Park via Shippan Avenue will be directed north on Shippan Avenue toward Elm Street, Myrtle Avenue, Interstate 95 and East Main Street. Traffic exiting Cummings Park via Soundview Avenue will be directed to use Soundview Avenue or Willowbrook Avenue to reach Cove Road.
Police said pedestrian traffic at Cummings Park will be released first after the event, followed by vehicles.

Celebrate Independence Day at the Brian R. Bill Darien Memorial VFW Post 6933's 21st Annual Push &amp; Pull Parade on Saturday, July 4.
The morning begins with a Declaration Day ceremony at 9:30 a.m. in the Darien High School courtyard. Families participating in the parade should arrive at DHS by 9:45 a.m. Contest winners will be announced at 10:20 a.m., and the parade steps off at 10:30 a.m.
The parade route travels from DHS to Noroton Avenue and concludes at VFW Post 6933.
Singer-songwriter Griffin House will perform as the special musical guest. After the parade, attendees can enjoy food vendors, live music, face painting and children's activities at the VFW.
Contests include Best Decorated Vehicle, Best Float and Most Patriotic Family, with winners leading the parade as honorary grand marshals.
