Merrill Arts Center

He cried wolf. Nobody believed him. Awkward. Now the sheep are restless, the villagers are suspicious, and the wolf is ready for his close-up.
This October, Merrill Arts Center lets the fur fly with The Boy Who Cried Wolf—a fast, funny twist on the classic tale. A cast of talented young performers, led by a professional director and design team, packs big laughs, bold imagination and a little barnyard chaos into one delightful 25-minute, G-rated show. It’s live theater made for young audiences: short, spirited and wonderfully unpredictable.
Join the flock on October 24-November 1 at 12:30 p.m. at Merrill Arts Center, 380 Rivertown Drive #200 in Woodbury. Check MerrillArtsCenter.org for added shows. At only 25 minutes, it’s the perfect theatrical treat for little lambs—and the grown-ups who herd them. Make reservations in advance because the small house sells out.
No screens. No pause button. No rewinding when things go baaa-dly. Just real kids (ages 5-12), real costumes and one famously unreliable alarm system. When the cry of “Wolf!” rings out, will anyone listen—or will our storyteller finally learn that honesty is the best policy, especially when teeth are involved?
Don’t wait until tickets are gone and start howling about it! Round up your favorite young theatergoers and visit MerrillArtsCenter.org
for tickets and information.

Secret Santa + your nemesis. What could possibly go wrong? 😬
Merrill Arts Center presents Junie B. in Jingle Bells, Batman Smells!, a hilarious and heartwarming holiday story based on the best-selling book series by Barbara Park.
Junie B. Jones is VERY excited about her school’s Holiday Sing-Along and Secret Santa exchange—until she draws tattletale May’s name. Suddenly, Junie B. has the perfect opportunity for a little holiday payback. There’s just one problem: that pesky Christmas spirit of peace and goodwill might get in the way.
Performed by young actors with professional director and design support, this 75-minute production brings Junie B.’s big personality, questionable decisions and surprisingly big heart from the page to the stage.

The Best Christmas Pageant Ever

by Barbara Robinson Featuring a multi-generational cast Directed by John Potter
December 5, 6, 12, 13 at @ 2 pm; 10th @2:00If you’ve ever tried to wrangle a group of children, this show will leave you laughing until your sides hurt. Beth Bradley’s church’s Christmas pageant is predictable every year — the angel choir wears too much lipstick, the shepherds are all in their father’s bathrobes, the minister’s son is permanently cast in the role of Joseph . But when seasoned and authoritative pageant director Mrs. Armstrong breaks her leg, it is up to Beth’s inexperienced mother Grace to step in. The timing couldn’t be worse, as the rambunctious Herdman children, a rough and tough group of siblings from the wrong side of the tracks, descend upon the pageant, lured by the promise of free dessert at Sunday school, and determined to win all the lead roles for themselves. Based on the popular children’s book.
THE BEST CHRISTMAS PAGEANT EVER is presented by arrangement with Concord Theatricals on behalf of Samuel French, Inc. www.concordtheatricals.com
