Bob Bishop recently retired as a public relations manager in the aerospace industry after 16 years with one of the three largest U.S. defense contractors. Previously, he was public information officer for the California Manufacturing Technology Consortium, a public-private partnership to improve the quality and productivity of the state’s small manufacturers. A former professional journalist, Bishop was Los Angeles bureau chief for the former Electronic News, a national, weekly trade paper for the semiconductor and computer industries. He covered various government and legal beats as a daily newspaper reporter for the Sun-Herald in Gulfport-Biloxi, Miss., prior to that. Bishop is a graduate of the University of Southern Mississippi, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Communications.
