Robert Wahmann is a co-founder and currently the executive director of the Neuroendocrine Cancer Awareness Network, a non-profit a 501(c)3 corporation chartered in 2004, whose mission is to support NET cancer patients and spread awareness of neuroendocrine cancer.

Robert’s involvement in patient advocacy started when his wife, Maryann, was diagnosed with carcinoid, a form of neuroendocrine cancer, in 2001. NCAN was founded so that other patients would have a resource that could make their journey a bit smoother. Together Maryann and Robert have produced and given talks at over 60 NET patient conferences nationwide. The attendees at these conferences leave with a greater knowledge of the disease and of the many treatment options that are available.

As executive director, Robert is the principal fundraiser and oversees the many programs that NCAN provides. No just an administrator, Robert (along with Maryann and their daughter, Tricia) answers the hotline, moderates conferences and is fully involved with the patients who rely on NCAN for information and encouragement. The phone line is open 7 days a week 9 am – 9 pm EST, 365 days a year and is answered by a patient or a caregiver at all times. This is a very important philosophy at NCAN. We want you to know the person on the other end of the phone understands first-hand about the disease. Many patients and support groups receive information, merchandise, awareness items and financial support.

Robert has over 25 years of progressive management, sales and business experience and is dedicated to helping neuroendocrine cancer patients live better, longer lives.
