Brian S. Bailey, Neighbor
- Arbutus, MD
Brian Bailey was raised to appreciate public service and value hard work. His demonstrated compassion and concern for those in need has grown into a commitment of working for the common good. He would be humbled and honored to serve as your state delegate and if elected promises to bring new and pragmatic leadership that meets the needs of Baltimore and Howard Counties and of Maryland’s future.
In 2008, at the age of 23, Brian became the youngest Chairman of the Baltimore County Democratic Party in history. For two years, he oversaw significant gains in voter registration, participation by local Democratic clubs, and fundraising. Prior to being elected to the local Central Committee from District 12A in 2006, Brian was a leader in the Baltimore County Young Democrats and the Southwest Baltimore County Democratic Club.
A former president of the Lansdowne Improvement Association and chair of the Southwest Area Educational Advisory Council, Brian has previously served on the boards of the Wilkens Police and Community Relations Organization and the Southwest Leadership Team, an umbrella organization of community groups. He continues to serve as a director of the Maryland Student Legislature, a model Maryland General Assembly with college student participants from across the state.
Until June 2012, Brian served as executive director of a state-based professional trade group. Earlier in his career, he managed the American Urological Association’s state government affairs initiatives and also administered the association’s federal political action committee. As a recent college graduate he researched and tracked pending legislation for a lobbying firm.
Brian is a proud graduate of local public schools and UMBC. He and his family are longtime members of Lansdowne United Methodist Church. During the latter half of 2012 and early 2013, Brian battled a rare cancer which threatened his life. Following rigorous yet life-saving treatment at Johns Hopkins he is healthy, grateful to be in remission, and ready to serve.
