The Connor B. Judge Foundation is a non-profit organization dedicated to raising awareness and research funds for neuormyelitis optca (NMO), a rare autoimmune disease that attacks the nervous system. The CBJ Foundation was formed in honor of beloved son, brother and friend Connor Judge, after he suffered a severe NMO attack that left him temporarily blind and paralyzed from the waist down. After two weeks in the neurology department of the Cleveland Clinic and 6 weeks of intense physical rehabilitation at MetroHealth, Connor recovered both his eyesight and ability to walk. However, he still endures daily pain throughout his back and legs, and many other complications from NMO. Most importantly though, his optimism for his recovery and ability to live life “normally” never waned. It is this positive outlook we hope to spread to others battling NMO, multiple sclerosis and other rare diseases, while raising funding to find a cure.
