For Gary Mann, jewelry wasn’t simply a career—it was a family tradition. Raised in Rochester, New York, he grew up around jewelers and watchmakers, and his family history traced the craft back as many as ten generations, through goldsmiths, silversmiths, and blacksmiths.
With Mann’s recent passing this year, the family made the difficult decision to close Gary Mann Jewelers—the family business. They ran for many decades in the Manayunk neighborhood—and will hold a final, going-out-of-business sale open to the public beginning September 24, 2026.During the sale, customers looking for great discounts on high-quality fine jewelry will have the opportunity to discover many unique, one-of-a-kind custom pieces. Explore how junior boarding helps middle school students build confidence, independence, and readiness for high school.
Discover the benefits of boarding school during the middle school years. Join representatives from 11 junior boarding schools and local educational consultants for an informative panel discussion designed to answer families’ common questions:
<ul><li>What is junior boarding school?</li><li>How can boarding during the middle school years support a student’s academic growth, independence, confidence, sense of belonging, and preparation for high school?</li><li>What is daily life like, and how do schools help students adjust to living away from home?</li><li>How can families determine whether junior boarding is the right fit for their student?</li></ul>
The program will explore academics, residential life, extracurricular opportunities, student support, the admissions process, and preparation for secondary school. Following the discussion, families will have time to meet representatives from participating schools, ask individual questions, and learn more about each school’s distinctive community and programs.
Light refreshments and snacks will be served.
Doors will open at 6:00 p.m. with the program beginning at 6:15 p.m. Families are welcome to arrive later and join us as their schedules allow.
Advance registration is encouraged; walk-ins are also warmly welcomed.
