Menlo-Atherton Performing Arts Center

On April 25, pianist-composer Michael Stephen Brown returns to Music@Menlo with an all-star ensemble. The program opens with his vibrant new work, The Carnival of Endangered Wonders, bringing 13 rare animals to life through colorful, imaginative music. The second half features Camille Saint-Saëns’s beloved Carnival of the Animals, where each movement playfully “paints” a different creature—perfect for young listeners and families alike.

Symphony San José Chorale and Symphony San José under the direction of Elena Sharkova present a program of choral-orchestral music featuring works from Arvo Pärt, Jake Runestad and Caroline Shaw. 
About This Performance: Experience an evening of luminous choral music with the Symphony San Jose Chorale at the gorgeous Mission Santa Clara on the campus of Santa Clara University. (On-site parking available.) Arvo Pärt’s spellbinding Salve Regina unfolds with quiet reverence and meditative beauty. Works by Jake Runestad evoke the tenderness of the human condition. Closing the program is Pulitzer Prize winner Caroline Shaw’s "and the swallow", which brings vivid poetry to life with shimmering textures and playful intimacy.&nbsp;
