City of Baltimore: "No Purple Doubt" WNBA Finals Valkyries Beat Dream 68-64, NFL Ravens vs Browns
October 18, 2026 - The "Charm'tastic Mile" of Baltimore (CTMB-1.3) www.thecharmtasticmile.com. The chic & famed 1.3 mile corridor located in the heart of Charm City (Est.1975) that connects Dwtn-West, the Inner Harbor & Harbor East (S. Greene & W. Pratt Street to S. President & Fleet Street) that is now listed on Google search as one of the Top 10-15 Most Famous Streets in America is reporting its Sports'tastic Sunday in B'more.
Last-night the Golden State Valkyries defeated the Atlanta Dream 68-64 in Game 1 of the WNBA Finals. In only their 2nd season as an expansion franchise they are 3-wins away from becoming the '26 WNBA Champions. There's "No Purple Doubt" the Valkyries are confident they can win a Chip. G-State's Gabby Williams had a big-game scoring 26 points, 6-6 from the free throw line. On defense Kia Stokes had 4 blocks with 9 points for the Valkyries.
Baltimore native and 2026 WNBA Defensive Player of the Year Angel Reese had a good game with a double-double scoring 14 points with 12 rebounds for Atlanta. The Dream leading scorer was Allisha Gray who poured in 19-points. The Dream had a 5 point lead entering the 4th quarter, G-State outscored Atlanta 17-8 in the 4th to secure the victory.
Game 2 will be on Monday (8:00 PM) at the Chase Center in San Francisco. The Valkyries main color is Violet. This is the reason they have been given the Ravens moniker/slogan "No Purple Doubt". Reese is connected to the "No Purple Doubt" slogan as well with her ties to Charm City (Ravens) and college days at LSU.
The "No Purple Doubt" Ravens are in Cleveland at the "Dawg Pound" to battle the Browns in AFC North action. This the 1st division game for Baltimore. They are atop of a very highly competitive AFC North with all 4 teams playing above .500 coming to Week 6 of the NFL season. Star QB Lamar Jackson is ruled out, Tyler Huntley will be making his 2nd-straight start. He delivered on the road last Monday night on the road vs the Falcons in a dramatic OT 30-23 win.
Cleveland QB Deshaun Watson is 2-2 in his career vs the Ravens. Two-games as a member of the Houston Texans and 2-games as a member of the Browns. He was 0-2 vs Ravens as QB with Houston and 2-0 vs Baltimore with Cleveland. He's at home looking for a 3-straight win vs the Ravens. Game-time is 1:00 PM.
