On Saturday, the New England Concours arrives at Lionheart Country Club in Avon, CT for the very first time! There will be two show fields, judged and non-judged, featuring everything from American classics and British icons to Italian thoroughbreds and modern exotics. This year our featured marque will be Mercedes-Benz! Around 100 cars are expected to compete across 14 classes and contend for several special awards, with one lucky winner taking home Best in Show. Proceeds from the event will benefit The Hometown Foundation's HungerLESS Holidays program.

Saint John’s Episcopal Church

Works by Schubert, Gryc, and Brahms
Originally written as a single movement for another piece, “Notturno” is a work of nuanced beauty. This gem of a composition by the sublime lyricist Franz Schubert opens our 2026-27 season. “Dances and Nocturnes” was commissioned by New World in 1989 from Hartt composer Steven Gryc. Each of the seven fanciful movements can be considered “night music”, the dances being “dreams of dances”. The addition of a viola adds richness and depth to the overall texture, creating a “contemporary classic” piano quartet. Brahms’ op.8 trio was first written as a youthful composer of 21 and revised thirty-five years later, shortly before his death. This imposing, expansive work remains a cornerstone of the chamber music repertoire. Its classical structure combined with romantic expressionism certainly fits the weltgeist of Beethoven. “ Autumn Reflections” is being given in memory of William E Fuller.

The Ultimate Estate Dining Suite: Magnificent 15.5-Foot George III Mahogany Table & 14 Chairs

For a dining room of true architectural consequence. We are pleased to present a magnificent George III mahogany dining suite, fresh to the market after being held in a single private collection for nearly a century.
This is a serious investment piece for those who value heritage over transient showroom trends. The four-pedestal table, flanked by two classic D-ends, extends via three period leaves to a commanding 15½ feet. It effortlessly accommodates the accompanying fourteen matching period shield-back chairs (including two carvers/armchairs).
Rather than a sterile reproduction finish, the timber boasts the rich, complex depth and warm character that only centuries of genuine care can bestow. This suite represents a rare opportunity to acquire a complete, historic hosting asset that will anchor a home for generations to come.
