David Gustavson, Neighbor

David Gustavson works as an engineer designing electronic circuits.  He holds a BS degree in naval architecture, which gives him a multi-disciplinary engineering background in structures, fluid mechanics, thermodynamics, and electrical engineering.  David and his wife Helen bought their home in Eagle Rock in 1988.  They spearheaded the volunteer community beautification project called the Wiota Circle Demonstration and Eagle Rock Monument, located at the bottom of the westbound 134 freeway Colorado boulevard off ramp.<br><br>David grew up in a rural part of Long Island, New York.  He moved to Los Angeles right after graduating college in 1978.  He first started working for a small company that made control systems for specialized metal forming machinery.  He has been designing mostly audio equipment for the last 10 years.  His work has given him the opportunity to travel to Germany, Sweden, China, Japan and Canada.<br><br>David’s interests include woodworking, automobile restoration, and home remodeling.  He is not afraid to try to learn new skills such as welding, plumbing, tile setting, and concrete work, which can sometimes get him in over his head.
