Ease into your Sunday with mindful movement, gentle stretching, and time to breathe. Led by a rotating lineup of yoga teachers, each bringing their own style and warmth, this welcoming practice invites you to move at your own pace. Stay afterward for coffee, conversation, and community—we’d love to spend part of our Sunday with you.
Why We Bring Yoga to Behavioral Fitness
At Behavioral Fitness, movement has always been an essential part of wellbeing — and yoga has been at the heart of that vision since the very beginning. We’ve been supporting free community yoga since 2019, beginning in Arbolado Park, and now, with the support of the generous donors of PEACE (Providing Easier Access to Care Everywhere) — a registered 501(c)(3)nonprofit — we’re able to bring these offerings into our beautiful studio space.
We have long believed in the transformative power of yoga. The research is compelling, and its value is undeniable. Yoga supports physical strength and flexibility, but just as importantly, it helps calm the nervous system, increase awareness, and cultivate balance from within.
Access matters. Many people have never had a truly safe, welcoming place to try yoga — to learn not only the movements, but also the deeper principles of mindfulness, self-compassion, and connection that make yoga such a powerful practice.
Our goal at Behavioral Fitness is to change that. By offering yoga and other wellness experiences at below-market rates, made possible through PEACE’s generous donors, we’re creating opportunities for people to explore movement, healing, and community in ways that are both accessible and meaningful.
How you can help:
• Show up — for yourself and your community.
• Share our offerings with others so more people benefit- help spread the word - it’s the greatest gift!
• Support PEACE and Behavioral Fitness so we can continue to grow and reach more people.
Together, we’re building something bright, local, and deeply needed — a community of care where everyone belongs.
Let’s build wellness like a local.

Lesher Center for the Arts

The Diablo Symphony opens its 2026–2027 season, “Breathe,” on Sunday, October 25, at 2:00 p.m. at the Lesher Center for the Arts. College of San Mateo Theatre

Viva La Vida with Excerpts from P1N0CCH10 & Carmilla features new works and a returning Oceánica Ballet autumn tradition. Act 1 premieres selections from two upcoming story ballets. P1N0CCH10, a retelling of Carlo Collodi's classic tale of Pinocchio, explores humanity, artificial intelligence, and our relationship with the natural world. Carmilla, an adaptation of Sheridan Le Fanu's groundbreaking sapphic vampire novella, stages a mysterious masquerade ball.
Act II features the return of Viva La Vida, the original story of Lucio and Lupita in a joyful folklórico-infused tale about transcending loss and the resilience of love, inspired by Día de los Muertos. In this “celebration of life, loved ones and culture,” writes Jocelyn Tong of the Daily Californian, “mythic creatures from the land of the dead … [lead to] twirled scarves and snapped-open fans …in a story of homecoming.” Throughout all three stories, the wisdom of women across time and cultures is amplified.
The San Mateo County Community College District in California, responsible for the College of San Mateo Theatre, is committed to ensuring an inclusive and equitable environment for all, where programs and services are accessible to everyone, regardless of ability. Author in the Archives Series presents
John Pettley, a professional land surveyor for over 38 years, talks about the significance of his amazing find in 1987. At the time, John was a surveying student at California State University at Fresno, and working on his senior thesis, when he made an important discovery about the history of the survey marks atop Mount Diablo.
On July 18, 1851, Col. Leander Ransom of the General Land Office (GLO) labored through thick brush, steep terrain, and harsh summer heat to establish the initial point on the highest rock at the summit of Mount Diablo in Contra Costa County. There he chiseled a hole in the rock and erected a pole with a large flag that could be seen for miles from the surrounding countryside. The grid lines intersected at the Initial Point on the summit of the mountain.
This mapping grid was extended to cover most of Northern California and all of Nevada and was used in deeds to describe the property boundaries in those areas. References to this system are found in numerous property deeds even to this day.
Step back in time with us as we hear the fascinating story of John’s journey in rediscovering this important piece of California and Nevada history!
Doors open at 4:00 p.m. John’s talk begins at 4:30 p.m.
