Trinity Presbyterian Church’s Spotlight Concert Series presents an evening of exceptional American songwriting with acclaimed singer‑songwriter Craig Bickhardt, performing in a special full band concert on Saturday, May 23, at 7:00 PM in Berwyn, PA.
With a career spanning more than five decades, Craig Bickhardt is widely respected for his emotional honesty, literary craftsmanship, and finely wrought melodies. His songs have been recorded by legendary artists including Johnny Cash, Ray Charles, Alison Krauss, Kathy Mattea, Art Garfunkel, The Judds, and B.B. King. His work also includes the closing theme song for the Academy Award–winning film Tender Mercies (1984).
For this Spotlight Concert Series performance, Bickhardt will be joined by an exceptional ensemble of musicians: Aislinn B. – vocals Kyle Swartzwelder – steel guitar and mandolin Nate Gonzales – keyboards Tommy Geddes – drums
Together, they will perform a rich mix of new material and classic selections from Bickhardt’s extensive catalog, ranging from intimate acoustic ballads to dynamic, full band arrangements. The concert promises an engaging and memorable live music experience for longtime fans and first‑time listeners alike.

About the Artist: Craig Bickhardt signed his first recording contract at age 19 and has released eleven albums over the course of his career. His 2023 release Outpourings reached #2 on the National Folk/Americana Chart, further cementing his legacy as one of the genre’s most respected voices. As a performer, Bickhardt has appeared at the Grand Ole Opry, Austin City Limits, Mountain Stage, the Philadelphia Folk Festival, and The Bluebird Café, sharing stages with artists such as Bruce Springsteen, Judy Collins, Harry Chapin, and Stephen Stills. His live performances are celebrated for their warmth, storytelling, and musical depth. Spotlight Concert Series: Craig Bickhardt – Full Band Concert

This event will be filmed live for inclusion in Jen Chapin's upcoming movie. Limited seating is still available..Jen Chapin has been celebrated for writing “brilliant soulfully poetic urban folk music” by NPR and has spent more than two decades creating songs that are observant, emotionally intuitive, politically aware, and deeply human.
Raised in and around New York City in a family of artists, writers, and musicians, Jen brings a rich creative legacy to her work. Her music blends urban folk, jazz, soul, and storytelling, carried by what critics have called her extraordinary voice and the dynamic musicianship of her band.
Her career has included appearances on Late Night with Conan O’Brien, NPR’s Mountain Stage, WoodSongs Old-Time Radio Hour, WFUV’s Sunday Breakfast with John Platt, and the Bob Edwards Show on Sirius Satellite. She has performed on stage with Bruce Springsteen and shared bills with Aimee Mann, Bruce Hornsby, and The Neville Brothers.
Jen is also deeply connected to activism and community work through her ongoing involvement with WhyHunger, the organization founded by her late father, Harry Chapin. Her songs often reflect that same commitment to justice, family, history, and the world around us.
For this performance, Jen Chapin will be joined by GRAMMY-nominated bassist Stephan Crump and acclaimed electric guitarist Jamie Fox for a cabaret-style evening of urban folk songs titled Anything Goes, and How Did We Get Here? The two-set show weaves historically informed, jazz-inspired questions about our current moment with selections from Jen’s critically acclaimed catalog.

Opening the evening is Lucy Rellosa, winner of the 2025 Havertown Voice. At just 15 years old, Lucy has been playing music since age four and has performed locally and regionally as both a soloist and in a duet with her sister, including appearances at the Delco Gives Telethon and Haverford First Fest. Through years of studying violin, guitar, and voice, she has developed her skills as a singer-songwriter and composes her own original music.

Free parking is available in the Oakmont Municipal Lot behind the Kelly Center off Darby Road after 6:00 PM. Additional free parking is available courtesy of Grace Chapel at the corner of Eagle and Darby Roads.

When we need more, how to help others at the same time“Giving freely of ourselves and what we all gain,” a talk by practitioner of Christian Science healing and international speaker, Melanie Wahlberg. The talk will focus on universal healing precepts found in the Holy Bible, especially in Christ Jesus’ life and teachings, showing how they are available for anyone to understand and experience through the lens of Christian Science. The talk is free, open to the community, and sponsored by First Church of Christ, Scientist, 81 Cassatt Avenue, Berwyn, PA 19312




“When we feel overwhelmed by life’s problems, we may want to try to get more from the world,” says Ms. Wahlberg. “But when we do the opposite–give more of ourselves or focus on the God-given qualities we already have to express or contribute, we find that we end up not lacking anything. Really, we gain the unexpected good of joy, health, and strength that move our lives and the world forward.”

Sharing examples of healing from her own life and professional practice of Christian Science, Ms. Wahlberg will explain why Christian Science is both Christian and scientific, meaning that people can prove its effectiveness for themselves, as fully described in the book Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, written by the founder of the Christian Science movement, Mary Baker Eddy.

Ms. Wahlberg will also touch on the life of Mary Baker Eddy, and how she came to understand, confirm, and teach what she felt was original Christian healing. Eddy herself said she was especially inspired by Jesus’ demand, “He that believes on me, the works that I do will he do also; and greater works than these will he do, because I go unto my Father” (found in the Gospel of John 14:12 in the Bible).

For over 150 years, people around the world have worked to follow Christ Jesus in this practice of Christianity and continue to do so today, with healings of physical ills and personal difficulties.
