Historic Yellow Springs Inc

The 53rd Annual Yellow Springs Art Show returns April 25–May 10 at Historic Yellow Springs, continuing one of Chester County’s most cherished spring traditions. Open daily from 10 am to 4 pm with free admission, this juried exhibition features 210 artists and over 4,000 original works for sale, filling the galleries of the Lincoln Building with an inspiring variety of paintings, sculpture, and fine craft. Visitors of all ages are welcome, and families can enjoy the popular Art Quest scavenger hunt, making the Art Show a perfect seasonal outing.
As Historic Yellow Springs’ largest annual fundraiser, the Art Show helps support the organization’s mission to preserve and celebrate the unique living village of Yellow Springs through history, arts, education, and environmental stewardship. 
The event concludes on Mother’s Day, Sunday, May 10, with the Art Around the Village Community Event, a free celebration from 10 am to 2 pm featuring artist demonstrations, creative activities, village tours, games, food truck and more!

53rd Annual Yellow Springs Art Show - April 25 - May 10

Bring your family and friends to the Purcellville Music and Arts Festival on Saturday, April 25 from noon to 7 p.m. rain or shine. This free, family-friendly event will be held at Fireman’s Field Park and inside the Bush Tabernacle Skating Rink at 250 South Nursery Avenue.

Enjoy a full day of live music and performances across multiple stages, along with an art exhibit, games, chalk art, and a variety of interactive activities. Browse offerings from local vendors featuring handcrafted goods, food, beverages, and more. There will be fun for all ages, including face painting, glitter tattoos, sidewalk chalk art, and t-shirt or tote bag decorating. Local non-profits will also be on-site sharing information and resources. Special activities will highlight and celebrate the 250th anniversary of America’s independence. 
Inside the Bush Tabernacle Skating Rink—transformed into the Art Hall—you’ll find more than 30 works of art, live performances, art demonstrations, and hands-on activities including quilt square decorating and an Instrument Petting Zoo. Be sure to pick up a festival scavenger hunt booklet and complete it for a chance to win a prize!

Imagine standing on a cold September morning in 1777, just after the Battle of Brandywine, as George Washington’s Continental Army retreats through the Pennsylvania countryside, seeking refuge in the small village of Trappe. Nearby, the stone walls of a modest church, built only thirty years prior, wait to serve a new purpose—no longer just a place of worship, but a sanctuary for wounded soldiers and a hospital for the new nation's fighting men.
That place is Augustus Lutheran Church, affectionately known as the Old Trappe Church. Located on Main Street in Trappe, PA, this is not just a building; it is a portal to the founding of America.
Dedicated in 1745, the Old Trappe Church is the oldest unchanged Lutheran Church building in continuous use in the United States. When you walk through its doors, you are walking through the same doors, sitting in the same box pews (some still featuring their original doors), and looking up at the same pulpit used by early Pennsylvania German pioneers and the "patriarch of American Lutheranism," Henry Melchior Muhlenberg.
A tour of this National Historic Landmark offers an intimate look at colonial life:
