FRIGID Nightcap, the East Village’s weirdest and wildest late-night variety show, returns to Under St. Marks with SLOPOCALYPSE NOW — A Human-Made Variety Show. In a world increasingly flooded with AI slop, dead-eyed content, fake grandeur, culture-war moral panic, and gold-plated authoritarian nonsense, FRIGID Nightcap is gathering actual live humans in an actual basement to make actual weirdness.
Hosted and produced by Edward Gibbons-Brown, this month’s lineup includes Glenn Blurton with an AI/Luddite clowning performance involving old technology and a possibly dysfunctional machine; Margo Polo with Rouxl &amp; Lucy in a queer drag/burlesque response to Catholic guilt, religious trauma, and right-wing Christian nationalism; Britt performing the original song “Dead Internet Theory” with live vocals, dance, and video; The Strange Girlzz; and Nightcap OpenStage.
Expect comedy, drag, burlesque, clown, music, performance art, audience interaction, and handmade chaos no algorithm can replace.

This class is offered for free in collaboration with the Taylor Center for Dance Education, the educational branch of the Paul Taylor Dance Company.
Dance Cardio is an energetic and fun way to get moving! Each class begins with a low-impact warm-up and gradually builds into learning engaging dance routines designed to elevate your heart rate. Throughout the class, you’ll also take short breaks to focus on conditioning specific muscle groups. Modifications are always encouraged and freely offered, making this class accessible to all levels. Classes conclude with a comprehensive stretch, leaving you feeling accomplished, energized, and ready to take on your day.

Mount Morris Park Historic District

On Sunday May 17th 2026, the Mount Morris Park Community Improvement Association is proud to host the annual Community Stoop Sale in Central Harlem. Over 100 homes are expected to participate in this year's 1-day event over an area stretching from Madison Avenue to Adam Clayton Powell Blvd (7th Ave), and from 118th Street to 124th Street.&nbsp;
This annual event brings together a diverse and vibrant community at the center of the historical brownstone district in the heart of Harlem.&nbsp;Bring your eye for a good deal and pick up some art, antiques, collectibles, toys, fashion, and plain old junk on offer as locals empty their basements and storage spaces in this annual spring-cleaning ritual of sharing and community building.
The day will feature live sidewalk events, including a closing party hosted by DJ RUSS, and featuring vocal performances by the WEST 119th STREET CHOIR.

Angelica Women’s Chamber Choir, directed by Marie Caruso, presents “Land of the Silver Birch: Celebrating Canadian Composers,” this May in New York City. The program features choral works by Eleanor Daley, Stephen Smith, Sarah Quartel, and Diane Loomer, alongside songs inspired by Canada’s natural beauty. It also honors iconic singer-songwriters including Neil Young, Leonard Cohen, Joni Mitchell, Gordon Lightfoot, k.d. lang, and Loreena McKennitt, and concludes with reflective works by Stephen Chatman and Don Macdonald. Joining Angelica are guitarists Fred Caruso and Ed Pitaro, and cellist Matt Stauffer.
