Effie Dawson, Neighbor

Effie Dawson has worked in sports journalism for two decades, as an editor at The Washington Post and columnist for the Baltimore Examiner. A sports junkie in her free time as well, she has coached youth basketball, served as a youth soccer commissioner and produced the sports programs for Broadneck High School's Boosters Club. She grew up in Virginia playing field hockey and basketball, and as an adult has run marathons, played USTA tennis and is determined to stay a competitor as well as a spectator. She has lived in the Annapolis area for more than 20 years and believes she has been to every soccer field in the state of Maryland.
