Saturday, October 3, 11am-5pm, 6/15 Green, Brooklyn
“...the earth gives us everything we need. The exchange of recognition, gratitude, and reciprocity for these gifts is just as important in a Brooklyn flat as under a birch bark roof.” - Robin Wall Kimmerer, Braiding Sweetgrass
6/15 Green is pleased to announce Art-Rooted, a one-day event celebrating trees on Saturday, October 3, 2026, 11am-5pm in conjunction with the annual citywide City of Forest Day! Art-Rooted explores our ecological, historical, botanical, and cultural roots embedded in trees that require our collective care and love to preserve. Trees cool neighborhoods during heat waves, prevent flooding by absorbing stormwater when it rains, clean our air, reduce greenhouse gas emissions, improve mental health and quality of life, and create vital habitats for plants, birds, and other animals. Discover ways to help raise awareness and get involved in your local community’s urban forestry efforts. Learn about historical factors that have shaped current tree canopy disparities as well as creative solutions to achieve equitable canopy expansion in high-need neighborhoods. This one-day community event invites artists and the public to re-imagine a world rooted in regeneration and reciprocity with nature, equally accessible to all, rather than extraction and consumption.

Tour the campus and visit classrooms with teachers.

Hear from parent and student ambassadors who will share their experience at our school through the years.

Discover how our teachers spark curiosity, develop independent thinking, and inspire students to pursue excellence.

Each Open House will last approximately two hours. Families are welcome to attend even if they cannot stay for the entire event, and students are encouraged to join us.
