Emily Hau, Neighbor

Emily Hau is a candidate for State Representative in Connecticut's 132nd District, which covers Fairfield and Southport. A problem-solver and community organizer, she has built civic tools that have drawn hundreds of residents to weigh in on local issues — from protecting small-business parking to tracking the town's speed-camera process — and she's known for reading the contracts and bills that most people don't. She has spent two decades at Yale University, where she runs Yale Institute for Foundations of Data Science and convenes people from very different fields to solve hard problems. Her promise is simple: read the bills, do the homework, and vote the way the people who live here actually want. A Fairfield resident since 2015, she lives in the district with her husband and children.
