Little Pastiche Studio is the brainchild and dream come true of two friends (and their amazing husbands) who decided life would be lovelier if they had a space to create their own personal art, as well as room enough to share the joy of art with others. We would like to introduce you to the two owners of Little Pastiche Studio.

This is Emily, a painter, art journal-er, writer and collage artist. She is a devoted wife, mom of five and mimi (grandma) of one. She also owns and adores the most wonderful golden retriever anyone could ever hope to call friend. You might find him lying on a comfy cushion keeping her company when she is in Studio working on a painting or planning her next class.

Emily graduated from Columbia College in 1986 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree. She spent 10 years creating a line of primitive, cloth doll patterns under her company name of Hootin’ Annies, and has been featured in dozens of magazines. In 2007, Emily became an Honoree of Country Living’s Pitch Your Product Contest. Even while enjoying her success as a cloth doll designer, she always felt a pull deep inside to paint and collage. In the last 3 years, her creative path has diverted a bit. Now that her kids are grown and she has the freedom, she enjoys working with acrylics and canvas developing her free-spirited expressionistic style.

Emily is our primary art teacher here at Little Pastiche. She’s always trying to think of a new and exciting way to expose people to the healing properties and joys that art can provide. Sign up for one of her workshops and see for yourself how contagious and therapeutic making art can be. Check our monthly schedule for updates on classes.
