The Southampton Playhouse's weekly matinee series Playhouse Jr. brings back one of last summer’s most delightful family-friendly events with a talent show for ages 16 and under on August 9 prior to a screening of the delightful 2016 animated comedy Sing. Participants must keep their performances to under 3 minutes. There are limited slots available.

Our family-friend matinee series Playhouse Jr. returns this summer with the generous support of the Rubio Butterfield Foundation.&nbsp;
Join us on Sundays at 9:30 a.m. for arts and crafts hosted by the Crafts Studio (separate ticket required) followed by film screenings at 10:30 a.m. Select screenings will also feature special guest introductions and activations around the theater, as well as classic Looney Tunes cartoons before the main features.

Southampton Playhouse Presents: SING: Playhouse JR. Talent Show   

Presented by Peter Marino Art Foundation
On the occasion of his new Tiffany Silver exhibition and the launch of his new book, Tiffany Silver, published by Phaidon, renowned architect and art collector Peter Marino joins the Playhouse to present the acclaimed 1961 comedy Breakfast at Tiffany’s. Audrey Hepburn stars as the memorable café society girl Holly Golightly, who forms an unexpected bond with the writer in her building, and the amusing hijinks that result from their relationship. The movie was adapted from a novella by Truman Capote years before his seminal non-fiction novel In Cold Blood, and the success of the adaptation helped cement the writer’s reputation.&nbsp;

Marino will discuss his new book, Tiffany Silver, after the screening, and Colacello will join the conversation to share his memories of Capote. Presented with generous support from Sims Lansing.

A powderkeg of emotion and urban alienation, director Martin Scorsese’s seminal portrait of lonely cab driver Travis Bickle gave Robert De Niro one of his most iconic performances — and established screenwriter Paul Schrader as one of the greatest scribes of his generation. Schrader, who later became an Oscar-nominated filmmaker himself, famously wrote Taxi Driver during a dark chapter of his life, and channeled those experiences into a rousing work of art. Now 80 and more prolific than ever, Schrader joins the Playhouse for a special conversation after the screening. Our latest summer fast cars series focuses on some of the most memorable people behind the wheel. Show up early to take photos with the vintage vehicles on display.
