Voted America’s Top Trainer/ Studio

Steve and Eva Eckert, of Peak Physique Personal Training, Boot Camp, Boxing in Nanuet, NY, were just voted America’s Top Trainer/ Studio, at Fitness Business Summit in San Diego, California. The event and contest, had over 1,500 personal trainers, gym owners, celebrities, authors, athletes, and persona of influence, including NY Giants Super Bowl Champion Steve Weatherford. There were trainers in attendance from all over the world, from over 20 countries, as Steve took the stage to tell his motivational story, with the message of being yourself, following your dreams, living with a sense of purpose, and ultimately giving back.

Peak Physique is a local, homegrown business. Steve has lived in Rockland County for 37 years, and his parents still live in Suffern, since 1980. This community has always been a part of their lives, and it is important to create a positive, healthy environment.

Why Steve started Peak Physique- I started Peak Physique after working at a Big Chain commercial gym for several years. I felt something was missing, people there were generally uninspired. I had a vision of Building a unique fitness culture, for people who felt they didn’t fit in anywhere else, or couldn’t get results anywhere else. For people who might have had great diversity,,and just need some real support,,a team,,a family.

I didn’t fit in anywhere, as one of the poorest kids in class, I didn’t fit in on the playgrounds where kids thought I was weird, not in elementary school where I didn’t have the cool toys or cable tv, not in High School where I didn’t do any drugs and had no friends. I didn’t fit in running wild in the streets causing trouble, nor did I fit in when I was in jail with the criminals.

Once I joined the Marine Corps, I finally fit in, and understood what support, culture, and camaraderie was. That is exactly the type of environment I have created at Peak Physique. A place where we support each other, like a family, have each others back no matter what, and everyone fits in.

Eva - Was born in Poland . Her passion for Fitness and Helping People started at her High School Years . She started as a Volunteer Fitness Instructor at Her High School and followed her dreams in Cathedral Of Physical Education in Lodz ( Poland ) , where she received Fitness Instructor and Lifeguard Certification. 5 years of studying and attending all different sports classes was finalized with Master Degree of Physical Education. Well spoken in English, Eva took the opportunity to study in America . She has finished several Courses to become Certified Fitness Instructor .

As Eva’s and Steve’s paths crossed , they instantly new that their passion , knowledge , dedication must be Voiced out on a Bigger Scale . This moment has created Peak Physique Fitness Facility , Logo representing Our Loved dog Tyson and 2 boxing gloves showing the Love for both Countries America and Poland.

For almost 15 years, we have been helping people who thought they had no hope, nowhere to turn,,much like I felt before I joined the Marine Corps. Some might even say I was a lost cause, and there was nowhere for me to turn, other than prison or even the morgue. But I always knew there was more, that I had a calling, a higher purpose to help people who couldn’t help themselves

Like Maureen, 50 years old 5’4 and 305 pounds, her doctors told her she was going to need medication and surgery,,or she can die. In 9 months she lost 100 pounds, and completely transformed her mindset and lifestyle. Sure the expert exercise and nutrition guidance we provided her helped, but it was mainly the support, culture and camaraderie,,that made it possible.

Since 2003 we have helped over 5,000 to fit in, lose weight, and change their lives.

Our goal is 20 in 20. To help 20,000 people by the year 2020, to completely transform their Body, Mind, and Lifestyle,,and to give them a place to turn, when they feel there is nowhere else to turn.

I guess you can say the Marine Corps saved my life, and now Peak Physique can change your life. I am currently a member of the American Legion, Nyack Chapter 310.

Peak Physique’s goal is to be able to positively impact as many people in Rockland County, and surrounding areas, as possible.

We offer a Free Boxing/ Boot Camp class every Thursday night at 615pm, for almost 8 years now. This started as a program to help keep teens off the street, and to offer a free place for returning veterans to exercise. It has evolved into a regular weekly program, open to the public. It is not just a one time thing, someone can come to only this, every single week, and never have to pay for anything.

Eva have aired several episodes in the Local Polish Radio Station on variety of Health and Exercise Topics .

We have run charity fundraisers/ Boot Camps for Epilepsy Foundation, the American Legion, American Heart Association, Shoe Drives, Toy Drives, as well as a different monthly charity, through an organization called sweat Angels- Causely. Each month, every time someone checks into our gym for a workout, we donate to the charity of the month, so the more they check in, the more we donate.

We have opened our doors to the Nanuet United States Marine Corps recruiters office, allowing them to use our space for free. We also let their potential Marine recruits, take our Boot Camp classes. I volunteer to train them as well, to help them prepare for the challenges ahead. We recently hosted their Hudson Valley regional joint monthly training meeting, with about 50 future and current Marines.

We have been featured in the Journal news in the past, for our other Free program, Burn and Learn. We partnered up with a local tutoring company, Grade Success, and offered a free 90 minute program for kids grades 1-6. It was 45 minutes learning, then 45 minutes burning, with a youth Boot Camp.

We believe giving back, should be the main purpose of any business or project, and was certainly a major factor in winning the award for America’s Top Trainer/ Studio, in California.
