Kick off Pride Month this year at the second annual Shrewsbury Pride 5K! Hosted by the First Congregational Church of Shrewsbury (FCCS) and Shrewsbury Youth and Family Services (SYFS), the Shrewsbury Pride 5K run/walk is an intentionally inclusive event that brings people together to have fun, be active, and support the LGBTQIA+ community. State Rep. Hannah Kane will once again serve as Presenting Sponsor. Held on Saturday, June 6th at 9AM, the run/walk returns to Oak Middle School and the beautiful Maple Avenue neighborhood. The registration price is $30 per person which increases to $35 on the day of the event. Check-in will close at 8:45AM that morning. Free t-shirts are available to the first 400 to register. Timing services will be provided by Presidential Timing.&nbsp;New this year are youth-sized t-shirts, peer-to-peer fundraising and a slightly-altered race route with a challenging home stretch. All ages are welcome, including children in strollers. Due to insurance restrictions, dogs may not participate. Proceeds of the event will be shared by SYFS, to facilitate programs to directly support LGBTQ+ youth and families, and FCCS, to support ongoing programs of outreach to local and wider marginalized communities. When you arrive, please follow the cones and directions from the workers. Bring your vehicle as close to the truck or dumpster as possible. Feel free to remain in your vehicle, our workers will unload your items for you. 
Residents from all towns and communities are welcome to recycle. The event will be rain or shine. Computer hard drives will be destroyed during the recycling process, but can be removed on-site at the event for an additional charge. Cash payment is preferred, but checks will be an acceptable form of payments over $30.

Sawyer Hill Ecovillage

For the sixteenth year in a row, the two neighborhoods of Sawyer Hill Ecovillage in Berlin will be celebrating the environmental holiday Give Your Stuff Away Day. We do it by, well, giving away stuff -- toys, clothes, books/media, electronics, cookware, housewares, office supplies, furniture, you name it. Basically, it's anything you might find at a multifamily yard sale, but all totally free!
Hours are from 9 am to 1 pm. PLEASE, no early birds!

In our final concert of the season SPM is thrilled to present two younger rising-star violinists, 14-year-old Samuel Lee and 15-year-old Takahiro Higuchi, both making their orchestral soloist debuts! Already winners of multiple competitions, they will perform the high-energy Concerto for Two Violins by Antonio Vivaldi, the spiky Concerto for Two Violins by Bronislav Martinu and the high-intensity, showpiece for two violins and orchestra, “Navarra,” by Pablo de Sarasate. You will be dazzled by their youthful energy and high-power virtuosity! With spring in the air, you'll be entertained by SPM's renditions of George Gershwin's Cuban Overture, An American in Paris, and "Walking the Dog," with clarinet solos by our outstanding principal clarinetist, Diego Bacigalupe.
