Troy MacGillivray is from Lanark, a small community on the north-eastern shore of Nova Scotia. Troy’s commitment to music has spanned 30 years and includes both practical and academic accomplishments – most recently an M.A. in Ethnomusicology from the University of Limerick in Ireland. From as young as six years old, Troy was impressing audiences with step dancing and soon after, fiddle and piano skills. His roots-centered approach has the power to inspire audiences and comes from a family of proud Scottish heritage where fiddle playing and Gaelic traditions runs in the bloodline. His first paid gig was at 9 years old and was teaching by the age of 13 at the Gaelic College in St. Ann’s Cape Breton. Troy is a recipient of the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee medal for contributions to culture in Canada.~~~~~~~~

The vibrant musical traditions of Scotland and Cape Breton take on new life in the hands of fiddler Katie McNally (“Formidable”, The Boston Globe) and Neil Pearlman (“a tremendous pianist”, BBC Radio Scotland).
McNally and Pearlman have performed as a duo for over a decade, making their mark at legendary stages like Newport Folk Festival, playing to buoyant festival plazas in Spain and England, all while maintaining ties to home by leading monthly community sessions at the storied Canadian-American Club in Boston.
Both were 2025 Shannon Artists-in-Residence at Beinn Mhàbu in Cape Breton, Nova Scotia.

The Cultural Center of Cape Cod

The Cultural Center of Cape Cod presents Fáilte for an afternoon of traditional and contemporary Irish music. Fáilte, which means “welcome” in Irish, is a dynamic trio of accomplished musicians who evoke the Irish tradition through their music. Their repertoire moves from lively reels, jigs, hornpipes, and polkas, played with ornamentation and energetic melodies, to beautiful waltzes and airs with a slower rhythm, along with songs that tell stories. With fiddle, guitar, piano accordion, whistle, bodhrán, and percussion, Fáilte brings the sounds and spirit of Ireland to life. Inspired by artists and groups including Christy Moore, the Bothy Band, Dervish, and Lúnasa, they connect with audiences through music that is both deeply rooted in tradition and full of life. Come spend a memorable afternoon immersed in Irish music, storytelling, and seasonal joy. Whether Irish music is part of your heritage or you're simply drawn to the energy and beauty of the tradition, Fáilte offers a warm and welcoming celebration for everyone.
