<p>We couldn't be more grateful to all the volunteers over the years who have helped beautify the 23-acre Jay Estate (wearing every color T-shirt from yellow to purple)!! From uncovering hidden flagstone paths, to raking leaves and planting annuals. We've participated in every <b>I Love My Parks Day</b> with <b>Parks &amp; Trails NY</b> and <b>NY State Parks </b>since 2012! Partner groups have included the <b>Girl Scouts, Cub Scouts, Mount Vernon Youth Bureau, Yale Alumni, Con Edison, Rye Neck School, Mamaroneck School, Stanford Alumni, the Rye Garden Club, Rye Sustainability Committee</b> and many more.&nbsp;</p>
<p>Sign up yourself, your family or your group today! Event starts at 9am and finishes at 12pm but you can help out for just an hour or two - whatever works for your schedule.</p>

<p>Share the Harvest Farm invites the community to celebrate the start of the season at its Spring Market on Saturday, May 2nd at St. Luke’s Church in East Hampton.</p>
<p>This lively, community-centered event will feature 20 local vendors offering artisan goods, prepared foods, and handmade items. Guests will enjoy live music by Reilly Rose, a curated raffle featuring local experiences and products, and a welcoming space to gather and connect.</p>
<p>Adding to the experience, guests will be able to enjoy “Spring in a Bottle” from Wölffer Estate, served by EAST + PALM to sip while they browse.</p>
<p>The Spring Market serves as an important fundraiser for Share the Harvest Farm, with participating vendors donating 20% of their proceeds to support the farm’s spring start-up costs. These funds help power the farm’s mission of growing and donating fresh, organically grown produce to families across the East End, often within hours of harvest.</p>

Binoculars are not needed but if you have a pair, bring them (there will be a limited amount of shared binoculars available). All ages and experience levels are welcome. </p>
<p>Indigo Goodson-Fields is a writer, poet, and birder based in Brooklyn. Her forthcoming book, entitled Essential Birding is an anthology about the importance of birding in the lives of Black birders across the U.S. and will be published by OR Books in fall 2026.</p>

<p>ReWild Long Island is accepting applications for its 2026 Summer Environmental Internship in East Hampton, Amagansett, Montauk and Sag Harbor. Open to students in grades 8–12.</p>
<p>Interns grow organic food for local pantries, protect native pollinators, farm oysters, compost, and build real teamwork and leadership skills. They work alongside experienced environmentalists and leave knowing they made a genuine contribution to their community.</p>
<p>Flexible hours. Community service credit. Stipend.</p>
