Join us for an open community event where residents are invited to bring in family photographs, keepsakes, or letters to share in a communal setting. Diana, our 2025 Fellow, will offer guidance on how to preserve and digitize these materials as well as lead an informal conversation on how visual histories shape identity. We hope that this exchange of memories creates a safe space of intergenerational learning.&nbsp;&nbsp;

About our 2025 Fellow, Diana:
Diana is an artist and educator based in Hauppauge, NY, and a proud mother of four. Her work explores memory, identity, and the hidden spaces within family archives, often using photography and performance to construct new narratives from absence. Diana received an MFA from Stony Brook University in 2025, where her thesis exhibition&nbsp;Constructing a Past&nbsp;was shown at the Paul W. Zuccaire Gallery. Alongside this work, she's been developing&nbsp;Americanized, a project that reflects on assimilation and erasure through altered family photographs. Balancing motherhood and art-making is at the heart of her practice, shaping both the stories she tells and the communities she hopes to reach.

Join us for an open community event where residents are invited to bring in family photographs, keepsakes, or letters to share...

This two-part workshop is free to the public and lead by our 2025 Fellow, Diana Salomon!
Participants are invited to first explore the role of family photographs in their own lives through writing and discussion, and then create new portraits inspired by those reflections. Diana will guide you through lighting, posing, and basic photographic techniques using accessible equipment. The art created during this workshop will be displayed in the Studio at Gallery North for visitors to view through the month of June.&nbsp;

Adults Only; shape and sculpt your own garlic grater out of clay!&nbsp;
During this Sip, Make, Play students will be introduced to shaping clay into a garlic grater and painting it with underglaze. Students will use raw clay and the pinch pot method to make a dish then using tools will press a design into the clay which will, when fired, be a good surface for grating garlic or ginger. You’ll personalize your own piece of pottery and leave it with the Studio staff to be fired in our kiln. Pick up of your ceramic piece will be arranged during the workshop.&nbsp;
Drinks and snack will be served. All included in the workshop fee.&nbsp;

(mostly) TRUE THINGS is a game wrapped in a storytelling show, featuring true stories told by comedy-wrangling, heartstrings-pulling storytellers from all walks of life, some award-winning professionals, some who are new to the stage but have a great story to tell. The game is this: all but one of the storytellers include subtle little lies into their story. In Act 2, the audience gets to question the storytellers then votes for the person they think told their story with no lies.
