Greater Connecticut Youth Orchestras has been inspiring and educating young musicians since 1961. Our holistic approach to music education means we challenge students at every stage of their music development while making sure they feel supported by their conductors and peers. GCTYO’s young musicians develop their talents beyond what they possible and feel pride and joy in their accomplishments. The study of great music in an ensemble setting can be a transformative experience for young musicians and the skills they learn as part of the orchestra – teamwork, perseverance, responsibility – carry over into all areas of their lives.
