Good Food Community Farm, Neighbor
- Cedar Falls, IA
Good Food Community Farm is a small farm owned and cared for by two enthusiastic, corn-fed twenty-somethings, Lindsay Schmidt and Travis Kaiser. We are devoted to small-scale agriculture that offers a diverse selection of extremely fresh, delicious, nutritious and well-grown food through direct sales to our friends, family, neighbors and locally-owned, healthful restaurant establishments.

We believe in closing the distance between farm to table; and that synthetic fertilizer-, pesticide- and herbicide-free, local food is the least expensive food there is – to our health, our communities and to our environment.

We grow over 170 different varieties of extremely fresh produce, and raise all of our eggs, chickens, turkeys and ducks just a few miles north of Waverly, Iowa on a small plot of Travis' family's third generation dairy farm. Good Food Community Farm was created purely out of the generosity, support, and encouragement received from both of our families.

We farm following natural processes and organic guidelines in order to build well-balanced soil fertility and provide the safest, healthiest, and tastiest food we can. We grow both familiar and rare cultivars of produce and we prefer organic, heirloom and open-pollinated seed.

In 2013 we will be participating in farmers' markets, and offering a flexible, educational, and unique Community-Supported Agriculture member-share option: the Good Food CSA.
