Gunny Alger, Neighbor

I spent 20+ years active duty in the U. S. Marine Corps retiring as a Gunnery Sergeant. I currently live in the Phoenix area specifically in the East Valley. I use the nick name GUNNY because my dad (also a Marine) is also named Frank and lives in the East Valley and we run in the same circles so this creates less confusion among those that know both me and my dad. I held many different billets and participated in many different operations during my career I currently live in Gilbert, AZ with my wife, Mary and son Caleb (who is in his second year at college in Florida going to Pensacola Christian College for nursing). My oldest daughter lives in Phoenix with her husband and youngest daughter and her son and oldest daughter live in Salt Lake City, UT with their dad. My youngest daughter married and lives in the East Valley also.

I am very involved in the community through the Young Marines, VFW, American Legion, Marine Corps League, DAV and Desert Gateway Baptist church. Besides being very involved in the community I enjoy spending time with my family. Caleb is a game-a-holic and collects Comics. The whole family are avid readers and enjoy board games and various hobbies. I am currently pursuing an education in photography (I already have an AA, BS, and MAED) to set the example for my kids to continue to be life long learners.

One of the things that I like to do when I have time is to tool leather and make saddles, holsters, wallets, purses and other things out of Leather. One of my favorite quotes is: "Life's most persistent and urgent question is: WHAT ARE YOU DOING FOR OTHERS?". Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
