The Grand Annex Music Hall

Play the Japanese Drum with Team Taiko!
Team Taiko classes are broken into 8-week sessions, with a different pattern taught during each session. Team Taiko can be purchased by session or by class.
Team Taiko is open to all skill levels and abilities, from beginners to seasoned musicians. Classes are recommended for ages 12 and up, children must either participate with a guardian or have a&nbsp;<a href="https://grandvision.org/wp-content/uploads/2022/09/Team-Taiko-Child-Waiver.pdf" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">participation waiver</a> signed before class.
Classes are offered in person and streamed live via Zoom to allow for all to participate.

About Class Fees &amp; Sliding Scale:
<ul><li>Team Taiko is designed to be $15 per person, so we can pay our teacher a fair wage.</li><li>Attending at the higher price supports subsidized attendees and supports Team Taiko.</li><li>We don’t want economic circumstances to be a barrier to attending so we offer tickets on a sliding scale and additional scholarships as needed.</li><li>Pay the price that works for you.</li><li>Your class experience will be the same regardless of which option you choose.</li></ul>

If you will be performing with a backing track, you can use the aux cord to connect your smartphone to the sound system. The Aux cord is compatible with Apple devices that use a lightning connector.</li><li>This is an all-ages show; all ages and genres are welcome to perform.</li></ul>

A night of irresistibly fun live music and dancing featuring the local cumbia band, Betty’s Mustache. All ages event.
DJ set starts at 8:30 PM. The band will go on at 9:30 PM.
Formed in 2008, Betty’s Mustache blends hip hop, rock and cumbia with a dark, edgy twist. Their traditional Latin grooves and punk rock attitude are inspired by their lost loved ones and incorporate hints of ’80s funk band Zapp and Roger. Cousins Jon and Martin are joined by Alex (conga) and David (bass). They regularly play at restaurants and bars around Los Angeles, including Las Perlas DTLA and Hello Stranger.

Grand Annex favorites Bob Malone and Renee Safier join forces for a night of classic jazz and blues standards.
Renee is an award-winning versatile rock, blues, and jazz vocalist. Known best for her work with Andy Hill and their band Hard Rain, Safier has played her guitar and sung her heart out to devoted folk-rock fans for decades.
Bob Malone is known for his high-energy piano-playing hybrid of rock, pop, and blues. He’s has toured with John Fogerty since 2011, done session work with Ringo Starr and Avril Lavigne and has amassed his own a loyal fan-base through 25 years of touring and nine critically acclaimed albums. The New Yorker called Bob, a “keyboard wizard” and in 2018, his recording of “You’re A Mean One, Mr. Grinch” was featured in the trailer for the Illumination/Universal film, The Grinch.
