Heather Wilson, Neighbor

“Hello, my name is Heather, and I’m a stay-at-home mommy”—a phrase I never thought I’d ever hear coming out of my mouth.  But, alas, it’s true.  And much to the surprise of my mother, I actually chose my current “occupation”!

 I consider myself on a journey of learning when it comes to parenthood.  Growing up as an only child, never living near any younger family members and never even babysitting the neighbors kids, left me completely unprepared to chart these maternal waters… and I’m sometimes paddling upstream with a tennis racket.  But I’m doing it, and for the most part loving it.  My kids are the light of my life, and sometimes the thorn in my side.  I am nothing if not honest… sometimes to a fault… and this mommy-thing is definitely a test in patience.

In the past five years I’ve gone from a traveling account executive, to a massage therapist, to a recruiter for a radio show, to an assistant director of a music school.  I’ve added newsletter editor, website editor, speaker coordinator and president of my MOMS Club to my resume.  And through it all, “mommy” has been my toughest, and most rewarding, job.

So I will share my thoughts, my ideas, my trials and tribulations… but also my accomplishments and passions and joys.  I welcome your feedback—negative and positive alike.
