The play is performed by Andre Keitt.&nbsp;
Andre has been an arts education specialist and storyteller for nearly thirty years. &nbsp;He has presented programs at schools, libraries and museums, as well as on radio and television. He holds a BA in English from South Carolina State University. &nbsp;He currently serves as <a href="https://www.google.com/url?q=https://journeywriters.org/about-us&amp;sa=D&amp;source=calendar&amp;usd=2&amp;usg=AOvVaw0qIkb0qMWtZrHuev0mB6ZD" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">Journey Writers' </a>Artistic Director.
Founded in 1974, Connecticut Humanities (CTH) is an independent, non-profit affiliate of the&nbsp;<a href="https://www.google.com/url?q=https://cthumanities.org/our-story/founding-legislation/&amp;sa=D&amp;source=calendar&amp;usd=2&amp;usg=AOvVaw1Td2ZYPRrxlSp0NsB4XE_C" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">National Endowment for the Humanities</a>. CTH connects people to the humanities through grants, programs, and collaboration with other organizations. Learn about the health benefits of summertime herbs! Clinical Herbalist Nora Toomey will explain how summertime herbs offer significant health benefits, including digestion support, natural cooling, hydration, and high antioxidant levels to fight inflammation.&nbsp;
Nora Toomey is a Writer and Clinical Herbalist. She has an MFA in poetry from California College of the Arts, and a Clinical Herbalist Certification from the Berkeley Herbal Center. In 2020, Nora co-founded the plant and sound wellness company, Flower &amp; Frequency while developing her private practice and herbal product line, True Bloom. She has enjoyed volunteering with the People’s Medicine Project, working at the Berkeley Herbal Center’s Community Clinic, writing for the Herbal Academy, and developing herbal programming for public libraries and senior centers across CT, NY, MA, and RI.

Summertime Herbs: Discovering the Medicine of Summer Presented by Clinical Herbalist Nora Toomey

Learn about the benefits of gems and crystals. Meet licensed commercial Chocolatier and Certified Aromatherapist Kim Larkin. Explore a display case of various crystal samples and learn how to best incorporate each crystal into your home and living space. You will take a fun crystal quiz and this will be followed by assembling a glass terrarium using small plants, soil, small assorted crystals and sands. Most importantly, you will plant your “seed of intention” into the soil! Calming music and tea will set the mood. This will be a wonderfully calming experience.&nbsp; 
Kim has been teaching creative workshops for over 20 years and her passion is sharing her experience with others.
She is a licensed commercial Chocolatier and a NAHA: (National Association of Holistic Aromatherapy ) Certified Aromatherapist.&nbsp; Kim is also certified by the&nbsp; Specialty&nbsp; Coffee Assoc. in Coffee Foundations and is a lifelong Tea Aficionado.
She believes healing teas and coffee are truly "aromatherapy in a cup"!
Kim is a practicing Usui Reiki Master and Spiritual Ceremonies Justice of the Peace.&nbsp;
She has developed a wide variety of creative programs that provide multi-sensory stimulation for both the mind and palette. &nbsp;Kim has turned her passion for teaching into fun, educational workshops that are offered either in-person or in her virtual classroom. Her interactive programs bring the community together to share an hour of informative, tasty fun!
